
Regional Food
We proved that BRITAIN’S GOT GREAT FOOD just by scratching the surface. Our hope is that you become hooked on finding out more and seeking out the best that your region has to offer in terms of farm shops and supermarkets alike. The more we all show an interest, the more produce will be available and the more we will be helping the committed people that are behind it.
In our short promotion we divided our country up into 5 regions to run over 5 weeks, but our food sources and traditions are actually best split into 8 regions, plus Northern Ireland! David Cavalier, our Food Director did a lot of research in preparation for this campaign and you can read all about what he discovered within each region’s ‘Recipe Book’

We marked up every dish that featured British produce from each region with a Reward Stamp that indicated the number of collecting stamps a customer would get in return for buying that product. Customers then collected all those stamps in a Collection Book and the one with the most stamps once the promotion ended was the restaurant winner. This winner was then invited to our Grand Finale in September 2009.
